I remember when I first joined instagram many years ago. This was still before I really got into street photography as a means of expression, anyway, I went through a list of suggested instagram users and it’s there where I first stumbled upon Paola’s work. Needless to say that I instantly fell in-love with her photography.
“I hope for people to go beyond their senses with my images, as I wish to evoke emotion behind the lives that people lead.” – Paola Franqui
Paola (also known as Monaris) is a Puerto Rican born street photographer living outside of New York City. Her photography has an incredibly raw and honest aesthetic to it. It’s captivating and thought provoking, the thing that I love the most about her style is that she does not just take a random photograph, instead she tells a story in a single frame.
Her work has been an inspiration to me over the years which is why it just felt right to kick of PaperCity Features with her.
